Emerge Education’s Step Up™ is a collection of adult education programs that assist adult learners on their path to a stable career and financial independence. Step Up™ programs include GED®/HiSET/TASC preparation, ESL, ABE and developmental courses. These programs are designed to meet students where they are in their education, increasing competency rates, while simultaneously incorporating a student’s industry interests. Our goal for students in these programs is to advance their career potential, gain industry-relevant knowledge and master transferable workplace skills.
These programs are available online or server-based and compatible with any mobile device or computer. Additionally, these programs are very cost-effective as they do not require the purchase of textbooks or software upgrades to maintain functionality.
This unique learning platform offers students the opportunity to customize their education and focus on their interests to develop the necessary skills that will help them achieve their educational and career goals. Students can customize their education to focus on what they are interested in and develop the necessary skills to obtain a career.
Emerge Education’s Step Up™ program is the first in the adult education market space to provide:
Emerge Education is able to offer each graduate of Step Up™ acceptance into one of the hundreds of technical, associate, or bachelor degree programs offered by Emerge Education’s higher education partner institutions. Additionally, in collaboration with the institutional partner, Emerge Education will also offer an institutional scholarship upon acceptance.
English as a Second Language (ESL) courses are designed for non–native speakers to communicate in English. The focus is typically on skills related to listening and observing, speaking, reading, and writing English.
Adult Basic Education (ABE) courses are designed for adults who already have a strong understanding of English, but wish to improve their basic reading, writing and math skills. ABE courses are often taken prior to entering into GED® or HISET programs.
GED®: Designed for students who have not completed high school, the GED® demonstrates the student’s level of equivalent knowledge to those who have completed high school. Accepted by most colleges and business in the U.S., polices will often differ between institutions and companies. The GED® is the oldest and most accepted high school equivalency in the country.
HISET: The High School Equivalency Test (HISET) exam is the new alternative to the GED® test. Successfully completing the HiSET exam will show employers and colleges you have gained academic skills equivalent to those of a high school graduate. The HiSET diploma/certificate is accepted by employers and accredited colleges in all 50 of the United States.
TASC: The Test Assessing Secondary Completion™ (TASC™) is a national high school equivalency assessment designed for students who have not graduated from high school or obtained an equivalency diploma. TASC will measure Reading, Language Arts/Writing, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science, with newly created content aligned to the Common Core State Standards.
